Training of Clinical Instructors in Meat Inspection

Eleven (11) Veterinarians from Central Office and Regional Technical Operations Centers (RTOCs) successfully completed the Training of Clinical Instructors (CIs) in Meat Inspection (1st Batch- Cattle) from February 26 to March 01, 2024, at Training Room A, MITDC Building, No. 4 Visayas Avenue, Vasra, Quezon City. The training aimed to nurture and harness the expertise and proficiency of participants, empowering them to be competent and effective Resource Speakers and Clinical Instructors of meat inspection—a vital role in ensuring food safety and quality. Through a comprehensive module, it will not only enhance their knowledge in meat inspection protocols and standards but also refine their communication and instructional skills by equipping them with the necessary tools and techniques.

Courtesy Visit of the Argentine Republic Ambassador

His Excellency Ricardo Luis Bocalandro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic met with National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) Executive Director Clarita M. Sangcal for a courtesy visit on November 16, 2023 at No.4 Visayas Avenue, Vasra, Quezon City. Ambassador Bocalandro expressed his appreciation to the long-standing cooperation between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of the Philippines. Established in 1948, the two countries commemorate 75 years of bilateral relations this year.

NMIS empowers personnel through SDC Track 1

Aiming to develop leadership competencies as they transition to supervisory roles, 32 National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) personnel undergo the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Track 1 from November 7- 10, 2023 currently held at Training Room A, MITDC Building, No. 4, Visayas Avenue, Vasra, Quezon City. During her opening remarks, Executive Director Dr. Clarita M. Sangcal encouraged the participants to enhance their leadership capabilities and develop initiatives that will promote employee empowerment. Director Sangcal also implored them to emulate the good office norms being practiced by their immediate supervisors and Regional Technical Director. The four-day training course is being implemented by the CSC- National Capital Region through lectures, discussions, structured learning exercises, and open forums. ###
