Anti-Red Tape Authority On-Site Inspection
On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Ms. Angelou H. Padilla and Mr. Jan Gil P. Laude of Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) undertook an on-site inspection at the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) Central Office, targeting the Divisions of Accreditation and Registration, Central Meat Laboratory, and the Public Assistance Desk to ensure the compliance of RA No. 11032, known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Gonzaga, Cagayan champions accreditation of 3 “A” meat establishment in Cagayan Valley
The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) awarded the License to Operate (LTO) of three (3) “A” meat establishments to the Municipality of Gonzaga, Cagayan Province on May 2, 2024. Executive Director Dr. Clarita M. Sangcal commended the Gonzaga Local Government Unit (LGU) headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Marilyn S. Pentecostes for its commitment to provide safe and quality meat to its people. “Meat Safety is a synergetic of collaborative efforts of both the National Agency and the LGU” Executive Director Sangcal emphasized.
Courtesy Visit of the Argentine Republic Ambassador
His Excellency Ricardo Luis Bocalandro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic met with National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) Executive Director Clarita M. Sangcal for a courtesy visit on November 16, 2023 at No.4 Visayas Avenue, Vasra, Quezon City. Ambassador Bocalandro expressed his appreciation to the long-standing cooperation between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of the Philippines. Established in 1948, the two countries commemorate 75 years of bilateral relations this year.
NMIS Strengthens Collaboration with UBRA to Advance Meat Inspection and Food Safety
On January 22, 2025, Dr. Roberto S. Umali, OIC - Executive Director, and Dr. Ronnie Ernst A. Duque, OIC - Deputy Executive Director of the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) engaged in a courtesy meeting with the United Broiler Raisers’ Association (UBRA).
30 NEW EMPLOYEES JOIN NMIS WORKFORCE
Thirty (30) Meat Inspectors (MIO), three (3) Meat Control Officers and one (1) Planning Officer took the official oath of office before the employees of the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) held at SHE Hall on February 6, 2023.
Executive Director Dr. Clarita M. Sangcal congratulated the new employees and asked for their commitment in serving the nation through meat inspection and hygiene for both locally produced and imported meat.
